What a fantastic end to our year at Freshfields; almost 120 or so of us enjoyed an end of year Christmas party to present certificates, medals, and trophies to all our service users. We squeezed into the lounge bar at the Rosegrove Unity Club for a night of music, food, dancing, and friends. And of course the raffle, which gets bigger every year!
The presentations were a great celebration of everyone’s achievements this year, every student received a certificate and rosette for gardening. There were awards from Kitchen Club and Foot Tappers Club and the Kirkbride Cup was presented to Michael A. as our most improved cyclist.
This year all members of the Bike Club received a special commemorative medal, “The Ian Kirkbride Memorial Medal 2014” as the Bike Club was Ian’s idea and he worked hard to get it up & running and making it the success it is today. Ian sadly passed away in September, he would have loved to be part of it.
There were prizes galore for the raffle, many of which had been kindly donated by local businesses and service users’ parents & carers. Everyone was keen to get on the dance floor and show off their dancing moves; with party hats, posh frocks & tinsel its definitely nearing Christmas.
Seasons greetings from everyone at Freshfields: students, staff, parents, carers, trustees, volunteers, customers, and supporters. We hope everyone has a happy and safe time, and hope that the New Year is healthy, happy, and hopefully prosperous.
